Quite a Year

It has been quite the busy year since the last post (7 months ago). Not that it's surprising that I haven't updated in that long. My summer and fall were filled with a move to a new school building and all the joys and problems that go along with such a thing.

We also went to Provo in August to see Erin and Greg graduate from BYU and it was great that both sets of Erin's Grandparents, Brandon, Christin and Megan and Greg's parents could be there to celebrate the graduation. Erin and Greg moved to Gardnerville, Nevada in July after Greg started a job with GE. Once work got back to normal I was focused on the upcoming birth of the cutest grandbaby ever. Megan flew Erin out to give her a baby shower in September and it was great to have her home for a few days.
Our family was blessed with the birth of our first grandchild Timothy James Alldredge on November 26, 2010. Thad and I were blessed to be able to spend a week in Nevada with Erin and Greg and Timothy after he was born. It is not strange at all to be a Grandma and it was very, very hard to leave Timmy and his Mommy and Daddy after a just a week. There were some hectic times this year, but the blessings far outweigh those. I am sure that 2011 will be an even better year. Happy New Year Everyone!

May Day Fun

What does a middle-aged, out-of-shape, empty-nester do for fun? This weekend I was very busy. I set a goal for myself to run my first ever 5K. I hadn't run in many, many years and wasn't sure I could do this, but worked all month on trying to get back into a little bit better shape and accomplished what I set out to do, which was finish the race without stopping to walk and my time wasn't too bad either (32:12.3). My friend Barrie owns the Larkridge Chick-fil-A and sponsored the event for a great organization called A Precious Child. It was an awesome morning.

We also finally turned Megan's room into a guest bedroom. Since we're empty-nesters we are expecting the flock to come back and visit (hint, hint) and now they have somewhere to stay when they come, other than the futon in the loft, although that is one comfy futon. There is also plenty of room for a portable crib (HINT, HINT). Thanks to Thad for all the heavy lifting and assembly.

Pinning on my number, lucky #13

The cow gathering the crowd at the start
Runners are Ready...
Set...Go
And I'm off
The finish line, so far away....
That's one fast cow
Still smiling, or it could be a grimace.
Not sure as I think I was delirious at this point.

Happy Birthday Mom

Thursday is Mom's birthday and we had an early celebration today. It was a girl's only lunch, although we were missing more than a few of the girls. It was a good time and we enjoyed the company and the twins. It was also a celebration for Nicole's and Tara's birthdays, so happy birthday to all. And for those who were not there, we missed you!

Happy Anniversary! 27 Years - Wow

February 5th marks the 27th anniversary for Thad & Me. Can you believe it? The wedding picture only proves how long ago that was. I, of course haven't aged a day, Thad on the other hand...

After 27 years, we still can't take a serious picture. I told the photographer that one wasn't going to work. The kids all agreed, and here is the outcome (out take) Anyhow, wishing my Eternal Companion another happy anniversary. Love You!
